Tempranillo Apartments were a result of the developers’ vision to provide high-end apartment living in Fresno’s Copper River Development area, an upscale neighborhood in Northeast Fresno. The complex is located near a large regional park, the Copper River Country Club, and Clovis Community College.

This complex consists of spacious one, two, and three-bedroom units, all with private entrances and balconies or patios and high-quality materials and finishes. A clubhouse, featuring a fitness center, covered outdoor entertainment areas, barbeque areas, kids’ play areas, and a pool, is identified by a tower clad with a colorful mosaic tile. Carefully designed drought-tolerant landscape areas enhance the open spaces throughout the site.
Spanish Colonial architecture is the dominant style associated with the area, and PHA adapted this for the project as a way to reinforce the identity of this desirable area. The site design and building locations were designed to capture commanding views of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The combination of thick perimeter walls, simple gabled roofs with barrel tile, and unique entry tower expressions at each entry point all contribute to the overarching design goal of respecting the Spanish Colonial architectural traditions that are appropriate for the climate setting.
