Edison is one of Fresno Unified School District’s oldest and most vibrant high schools. While a principal with the Taylor Group Architects, Paul Halajian served as Architect of Record and oversaw preparation of construction documents, value engineering, approval, bidding, and construction administration phases of the project. The project was bid in phases with each phase being delivered on budget.

The scope of work included new utility infrastructure, the removal of aging relocatable classrooms, a new auditorium/cafeteria, a two-story science classroom building, an administrative annex, and the modernization of the remaining existing campus buildings.

Work occurred in eight phases while the campus was continuously occupied. A new amphitheater located at what has become the heart of the campus now serves as a focal point of the West Fresno community. A robust community engagement effort was used to obtain input and guidance from students, parents, community leaders, and administrators to ensure that the revitalized campus would meet the needs of the Edison community and become a source of pride in West Fresno.
