The Copeland Medical building is the new home to a well-established and expanding medical practice. It was envisioned to provide much-needed space without affecting the existing parking requirements for the site.

The design lifted the program above the site to maximize parking, resulting in a 10,000-square-foot building, giving the owner more space than they thought possible. Only columns and the 750-square-foot lobby and electrical room touch the ground.
The steel moment-framed building features a striking multicolored fiber cement and plaster façade. The multicolored earth tones complement, yet differentiate, the building as a contemporary interpretation of the ashlar stone on the other buildings occupying the campus.
Complementary to the architectural character of the existing buildings on the site, the character of the new building is compatible with its neighbors.

The office houses 20 exam rooms, a lab, consultation rooms, and an inviting reception area. The interior of the building creates a calming environment that puts patients at ease. Features include walnut coffered ceilings, walnut cabinetry, and a subtly patterned floor that beautifully provides wayfinding. Strategic placement of windows for ample, well-balanced natural light in the reception area and exam rooms, coupled with calming colors and natural wood tones, all combine to create a soothing interior atmosphere.
