Associate—Interior Design
Rita is responsible for leading architectural projects, from conception to completion.
She is involved in most, if not all, aspects of construction from the design development, selection of construction materials, and the development of the construction documents. Her additional responsibilities include coordination with consultants, government agencies, and the client—and fortunately, Rita is a master of coordination and planning.
Outside the office, you might find her taking long walks with her two dogs Coco and Max, designing jewelry, or a new outfit, or scoping out the latest shoe trends. She especially loves spending time with family and friends.
Education & Certifications
Rita graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. She also holds a certification from the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications.
Community Engagement
Rita has had rewarding experiences as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. This organization helps low-income families improve their living conditions. As a volunteer, Rita assists Spanish-speaking families with the selection of finishes for their new homes. She also volunteers for Camp Care, a summer camp for kids affected by HIV, where she has had the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of the children participating in the camp. In addition to her counselor role, she has overseen fun craft activities for children of all ages.

Favorite PHA project
“PHA is currently completing the design for a new Cultural Facility. I have enjoyed working on this project because of the unique and sometimes complex requirements of performance spaces. Also, I believe that a cultural facility can be a vital element for our community.”
