A Note from Paul Halajian

Architecture is the backdrop where life unfolds. With this core belief as a point of departure, we founded Paul Halajian Architects in September of 2010 with a strong desire to offer dedicated, focused service to clients, and commitment to producing high-performing building projects that showcase exemplary design.

Each project is headed by myself as Principal Architect, working in close collaboration with a team of amazingly talented architects and designers. We value architectural education and work intentionally to develop our up-and-coming staff members on their path to licensure. By actively providing opportunities to enrich their growth both personally and professionally, the capacity of the firm is elevated.

At the heart of it all, there is love. We love what we do, and more so, we love working together and with clients who have placed their faith and trust in our care to design projects that embody their aspirations.

As we move forward into the complex, turbulent, and exhilarating times ahead, our collaborative studio will be called on more and more to apply “design thinking” to address both local and global challenges. We are committed to sharpening our skills and broadening our interests artistically, technically, socially, and spiritually while continuing to focus on the details that make our work shine.

Senior Architect

Position Summary:

Plan and design structures like residential, office buildings, community spaces, industrial facilities, and structural properties.

Essential Functions:

Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture.
Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity.
Performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies and limited design layouts.
Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.
Writes reports and specifications
Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
Manage a team of non-licensed staff (designers) and provide coaching and technical guidance
Interacts directly with clients.
Responsible for leading a team and directing specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the clients needs.
Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design and coordination of large, complex projects.
Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
Reviews time and reports for payroll to ensure projects are billed appropriately and the to he correct phases to manage costs, resources, performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Licensining required
Degree in architecture or related field
Six (6) or more years of experience
Proficient in Revit and associated products.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Familiar with relevant legal regulations and applicable building codes
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Critical thinker and problem solver
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Courteous, professional, and enthusiastic.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team player and positive attitude
Ability to take initiative in completing all tasks at hand in a timely manner.
Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives.
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to a large audience

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience
Health benefits the first of the month following sixty (60) days of continuous employment.)
401K option is available after (ninety 90) days of continuous employment
